This collection includes: four account books, one a record of metal made; two cash books; thirty-four daybooks; thirty-one ledgers; three time books, one an ore book and one a coal and time book; a docket book; and an invoice book. Those represented in the collection include the furnace operations at Julian, Centre, and Mt. Vernon; stores in Perrysville, Pine Grove Mills, Milesburg, Dales Mills, and Oak Hall Mills; the towns of Gideon, Woodward, Noblesville, and Indiana; the firm of Thompson & McFarland; and the Monroe County Constable. There are also personal ledgers for Albert Hoy, Dr. Peter Smith, Emmanuel Lorah, and Samuel Stevenson.
